ICA Cash Policy White Paper

Cash is the dominant form of payment and the oldest means of payment available today. Cash is an essential factor for personal freedom and privacy as well as social inclusion. Cash has a unique place as a public good that enables everyone to be involved in the economy and society, regardless of income of status and the only form of payment that guarantees the freedom, sovereignty and privacy of the individual.
What practical steps do policy makers need to take in order to protect the supply and acceptance of cash and promote its further development? In its new Cash Policy White Paper, which it is launching at the HSP conference in Abu Dhabi, the International Currency Association presents its reflections in the form of Nine Recommendations to inform the debate and engage in further reflection with stakeholders and policymakers.
