The system of technological security of state documents has been created in Lithuania. Service of Technological Security of State Documents under the Ministry of Finance boasts 27 years of experience in designing security documents, controlling the quality of the documents and analysing the cases of document forgery.
The Identity card is one of the main identity document. During the 30-year period of the independence of Lithuania, different types of Lithuanian ID cards have been issued to the citizens of Lithuania until the launch of the newest document since September 2021.

This presentation deals with the newest technological security features of the new Lithuanian eID, discusses the changes in the design of this document, and its issuing procedures. The new design of the document will be presented, the differences with the previously issued ID cards will be described, and implemented most advanced technological security features will be shown, as well as issuing processes and their potential.
