Data collection during the banknote printing process is today a must, not only for traceability and accountability reasons, but also to understand how the printing process is performing and to identify areas of improvement.

Serial numbers serve as the crucial link between sheet‑level production and individual banknotes. Ensuring high‑quality inspection and accurate data capture is therefore fundamental to reliably associate every piece of information with each banknote, starting from unprinted substrate and continuing through production and even circulation throughout a banknote’s entire lifespan.
